OpenTender / Tender writing 0424 996 704

Found before it’s advertised.
Written by a date.

OpenTender keeps the calendar of government contracts across Australia: who holds each one, and when it ends. Any industry. You hear while there’s still time to act, and nothing is owed until you’ve read the draft.

An alert tells you a tender opened. The calendar tells you it’s coming. Every buyer publishes a register of the contracts it has already awarded: who holds each one, what it’s worth and when it ends. A contract that ends in March goes back to tender before March, and I read the registers every morning.

The first thing I check on any live tender is the site inspection date. Most councils make the inspection mandatory, and a tender you can no longer inspect is already dead, however open it looks on a portal. If I point you at a tender, that check has been done.

The calendar is not just cleaning. Cleaning, waste, security, grounds, catering, trades and facilities management: any contract a public register names, from federal buyers, state governments and councils across Australia. Cleaning and facilities is where it runs deepest, which is why the examples on this page lean that way.

05

Nothing owed until you’ve read the draft

If you read the first draft and think it’s no good, you’ve lost twenty minutes and you owe me nothing. The invoice is issued when the finished response is delivered, payable in 7 days. The clock starts when your interview is done and your documents are in, so the date is one I can keep.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask

What are my chances of winning?

I won’t tell you, because nobody can, and anyone who does is selling. What I promise is a complete, compliant response lodged before the deadline: the thing that has to be true before winning is possible at all. Tenders are decided mostly on price and on whether the buyer is happy with who they’ve already got, and both of those are yours, not mine.

Isn’t a tender alerts subscription enough?

Keep it if you’ve got one, they’re useful. But an alert tells you a tender opened, and by then the site inspection is often booked and the incumbent has known the work was theirs to lose for months. The calendar starts when the contract was signed, not when the buyer announces. And the alert still leaves you with the actual problem, which is that somebody has to write the thing.

What does tender writing cost in Australia?

Tender writing in Australia typically runs $4,000 to $8,000 plus GST per response, or around $165 an hour. OpenTender is fixed and published instead: $3,000 + GST for a council standard tender, back in 5 business days, and $5,000 + GST for a full RFT, back in 10. Panel and whole-of-state work is quoted from $7,500. Nothing is owed until you’ve read a draft and decided you want it finished.

Which industries and regions do you cover?

Any industry with a public contract: cleaning, waste, security, grounds, catering, trades and facilities management have the deepest calendar, and the writing works the same in any sector. Buyers are federal, state and council, Australia wide. If your patch is one state or one region, Watch covers exactly that patch.

Who else have you written for?

Straight answer: OpenTender is new, and you’d be among the first. That’s exactly why the fee is fixed instead of hourly and why the draft comes before the money. You’re not taking a punt on me, you’re reading a document and deciding whether it’s any good. There are no testimonials on this page yet; when there are, they’ll be named, with the client’s permission, or they won’t be here at all.

What happens to our documents?

Your documents are yours. They’re stored in Australia and used for your tenders only: one client’s material never informs another client’s draft. Your pricing, your tender documents and your evidence never go into public tools of any kind, and every claim in a draft traces back to something you gave me or to the tender itself. Ask for your file to be deleted and it’s gone within five business days, with written confirmation.

Do you lodge it for us?

No, unless you ask me to and give me access. Submission is yours, and the declarations are signed by you. What you get from me is the finished response, ready to lodge, ahead of the deadline.
